HEART Lunch and Executive Briefing a Huge Success

Over 200 people attended "Housing Our Employees: It's Everybody's Job" on Tuesday, May 13th, at the South San Francisco Conference Center, and raised a total of $101,745 for HEART.

  • The highlight of the program was the introduction of HEART's new homebuyer assistance program "Opening Doors in Our Community," in cooperation with Meriwest Credit Union, to offer home loans to San Mateo County employees and "move-closer" buyers. See above.
  • CA State Director of Housing Lynn Jacobs spoke about current housing priorities through Prop 1C funds, and ideas for future sources of dedicated revenue for housing.
  • HEART honored Genentech, Inc. as Corporate Donor of 2008 for their million dollar donation.
  • And....we announced a $50,000 challenge grant from Cargill Salt and Redwood City Industrial Saltworks. We raised $26,745 at the event, combined with the $25,000 raised before the event....

HEART met the $50,000 challenge grant and raised a total of $101,745.

THANK YOU to all who helped HEART exceed our goal!
