Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA)

CORA is the only agency in San Mateo County solely dedicated to helping those affected by intimate partner abuse. From counseling, to emergency housing, to legal assistance, their services are designed to provide safety, support, and healing, and are accessible to community members via referral by the EPA advocate.

CORA has operated San Mateo County’s only safe houses for survivors of intimate partner abuse and their children continuously for the last 45 years.

CORA’s safe houses are:

• For all genders
• In a confidential location
• Culturally responsive

Safe house clients have access to trauma-support services to help empower them and restore a sense of safety and connectedness.

East Palo Alto (EPA) Program

CORA does community advocacy in the City of East Palo Alto (EPA), where our second office is located. EPA residents can access the following services for free:

• Follow-up Support
• Advocacy
• Referrals to community-based resources
• Translator services are available in every language
